2 Month Reflection

2 Month Reflection

It's been 2 whole months of working for myself and dedicating all my hours on my small business! I thought I'd take the time to reflect on how it's been going!

As I approached the big day, I was feeling a little nervous but very excited - I was getting consistent sales everyday and I was anticipating all the time I'd have to focus on continuing to build my business. The big day came, I kept the same routine, wake up, get myself a coffee and make my way to my desk... Then the overwhelm hit and I had no idea what to do first. Oh and because life is so fun, remember how I mentioned the consistent sales? - The first FOUR DAYS I had ZERO sales come in, nada. I freaked out and thought well I'll be damned if this wasn't the worst decision ever made.

Now fast forward to 2 months in, things are on track and I have TIME! I've been able to introduce some new seasonal products that I always dreamt about (pumpkins, ornaments, etc.) but never had the time to actually dedicate. I've actually been excited to go to markets, because having a full time job all week and then spending your weekend at markets and going back to your 9-5 on Monday is exhausting!

The weird thing that I noticed (and maybe should've anticipated?) though, is when I do sit down to paint, there's a lot more pressure. That blank page, the white space, is a lot more daunting when you finances depend on it... So I keep having to remind myself that it's ok, it's ok if this piece doesn't work, if some days it looks like I don't know how to art at all.

I finally feel like I have my stuff together and have a handle on my schedule! I am excited to continue creating and making all those ideas into reality. I'll be travelling for another wholesale tradeshow next year and feeling the wholesale portion of my business is growing. I am so close to meeting my 2024 goal of stocking 150 retailers (8 more to go!).

If you've made it this far, thank you for being here! Post any questions you have below :)

Have a lovely day!
